Haven't Blogged Because of THIS!

My adventurous 16 month old Ronan decided he would no longer stay in his crib to sleep. During the middle of the night I woke up to him screaming. In his room I found him holding onto the railing from the outside of his crib. The next day each time we tried to put him down for a nap he would climb out and lay on the head board part of the crib. I would have been fine if he could get out safely but we saw only visions of broken arms. So I cleared all the furniture out of the room except for the mattress on the floor. The only solution was to create a giant crib with a locked door. I had 3 days of no naps and lots of crying. Yesterday he found the diaper rash cream under his crib. He was covered, the carpet was painted, and then me. We all smelled funny the rest of the day. A thought to you who haven't cleaned that up. I would rather have to clean any other substance, poo included and I can compare. It took me hours to scrub it out of the carpet and comforter. I even threw away his sheets because I figured the 20$ would be worth not having to scrub one more thing. But there has been some success. Finally today it sunk in and he is falling asleep without crying on his bed. When he wakes up from a nap he knocks on his door. Here is a picture of him I took tonight.

The Jewelery Diamond Party

This was the easiest party I have ever put together. I found diamond wedding cards already made at Target. Another good Target find was the foam hats for 25 cents. The kids made their own party hats when they got to the party.

All the kids modelling their hats.

The girls made their own necklaces with pony beads and boondoggle. We also painted fingernails.

Happy Birthday my big 5 year old girl. I hope you had a dazzling time.

Adventure of the Week - Tracy Aviary

I want you to look closely at Leah's arms. That is the position the arms were held in for 2 days following her kindergarten shots. Finally I figured out that she thought the band aids would pull if she moved them. We ripped off the band aids and by the next day her arms were back to new.

Ronan was so excited about these birds.

The kids are all looking at a bird egg.

We were planning on playing in the waterfalls but they were closed. Does anyone know if there is a place you can find out if they are open or not? It is a good thing there is water at the park because we were all in our swimsuits and needed somewhere to get wet.

Pictures from the 4th

At the Real Salt Lake Game Fireworks

BBQ at the Carmacks. Ronan got that messy from one little chocolate cookie.

Dave took this cool shot with the night setting on my camera. I do wish my knees weren't in it.

Davy and Leah had some bike riding practice. At this point it she is really a danger to herself on this bike. Things are not looking good for no training wheels. Although not for lack of desire on her part. Dave decided that she must have on knee pads, elbow pads, a helmet, and close toed shoes. What is he Lagoon, close toes shoes.

If You Have Girls and Love Hair Read On

My friend Lisa sent me the link to this blog that I am dying over. It is a lady who loves to do her girls hair and has created a blog around it. She has every style you can imagine. She takes pictures of the step by step and gives great instructions. I am loving it and am totally addicted. I will give you the same warning Lisa gave me. Proceed at your own risk may be addicting....

Fireworks and Sickness

This weekend was a combination of fun and not so fun. Thursday was Leah's birthday. We went to the Real Soccer Game with some friends and got to see fireworks afterward. That night Ronan was up til 2am and Eva didn't sleep all night. She kept complaining about her ear. So 4th of July morning I took her into the doctor. Her eardrum has burst overnight. The poor girl I felt so bad for her. After some ear drops and antibiotic she is doing much better.

The rest of our 4th was spent at a neighborhood BBQ. The weather was just perfect with some clouds and a breeze. Then while we were sitting outside there was a micro burst wind. It blew limbs off trees all our food off the table. My neighbors trampoline blew all the way over their fence onto a car. We went up to Davis High to see some fireworks.

In the morning Ronan didn't wake up until 11:30 when Dave went to get him. His temperature was 103. He was so sick all day and didn't even move. Which if you know him is not normal. I got his fever down and he was feeling fine. After church Sunday his fever came back at 104. He was breathing funny and I couldn't get his temperature down. After another trip to the insta care I found out that he had strep throat.

Today was Leah's 5 year old visit. She was a little angel for the whole appointment. I took her into the bathroom to pee in the cup. She thought it was the funniest thing. Eva started crying because she wanted to pee in a cup too. Then came the shots at the end. I had prepared her well for a little pinch. We had a sucker to eat while getting the shots. The two nurses come in 2 shots each and in a flash it is over. Leah is screaming very angry, "ahhhh, you said it would be a pinch that hurt much more than a pinch." The whole rest of the day she refused to move her arms. She couldn't open doors, go to the bathroom, or pick things up by herself. I made a comment about how it probably didn't hurt that bad. She put me in my place by saying, "Mom you haven't had kindergarten shots so you wouldn't know." I hope that her arms work tomorrow.

Parade of Homes is Kinda Like Shopping You Cant Get Enough

I loved this island that is turned to the side with seating on both sides. It is like an informal table where you could actually look at each other.

The one thing that did make Emily and I a little jealous was the organizational things. The mud rooms, the pantries, built in shelves, and oh closets to die for. A few with washing machines and ironing board in them.

This sink was by far the most creative thing we saw. The whole room was this racing theme including a dirt bike.

Thanks to my mom who babysat yesterday I got a day off to go to the parade of homes. When you see that ticket that has spots to see so many homes you cant just go to a few, right? My friend Emily are both fans of that theory and I went up to the Mountain Green fixed site to see the 11 homes up there. Mountain Green was beautiful the views from the homes were unbeatable. Then we went to Bountiful to meet a few friends of ours for dinner and a few very large Bountiful homes. I got to get my haircut which makes the day even better. Then off to the most picture perfect view you have ever seen. I am all about the surroundings and these homes were in areas that I would live in a tent on. It was a very girly fun day.

Why I Love My Garden

I am obsessed. Everyday I check each flower to see how it is blooming. My neighbor helped me pick out all the flowers. Some of them I don't even remember what they are suppose to look like when they bloom. It makes the day when there is finally flowers even more exciting. The flowers at the top first bloom red then change to orange and then after it has been out longer turns yellow. The picture on the bottom is a painted daisy my very favorite flower. This was suppose to be orange but I have one section that is coming out yellow. Look at the flower that is half yellow and half orange. I think it is amazing enough that it deserved a picture on the blog.

Little Fish

The girls had swimming lessons last week. First day Leah was just a natural doing anything her teacher told her. Eva took a few days to warm up. In fact I couldn't even get her to stay in the pool Monday. But thanks to a great teacher Sara ,by Friday Eva did everything to pass off her level. I was really proud of her for blowing bubbles and putting her face under the water. Leah was especially amazing at picking up the rings off the bottom of the pool and she is getting the basics down to begin swimming. Anyone looking for a great place for lessons call North Davis Gymnastics. They are a private 20 minute lesson for not much more than a group class.

Kid Quotes from the last year

The girls were jumping onto the bean bags today. They had created names for each of their moves. Some of my favorites; back buster, fur ball, and the flying somersault

Leah thinks she should tell me about commercials she sees for household items. Today she gave me the low down on a vacuum for your kitchen floor that you don't even have to plug in. She thinks I would really love it but she doesn't know how much money it is.

Ronan pointed at a plate full of oranges and said, "orange" plain as day. I cant get him to repeat it so no one believes me.

Trying to get Leah to eat a chicken nugget at my friends house the other night. She kept crying and crying she just couldn't eat it because it tasted like dirt.

Leah asked as we were getting ready for church, "Is it a fast Sunday or a slow Sunday."

Eva asked Grandpa Tom for some milk. He asked what is the magic word. She responded abracadabra moving both hands like magic wands.

Come on girls I yelled impatiently. Mom were coming we are little girls with little feet responded Eva.

Anytime I say Eva stop being ornery. She responds I am not... ornery I am Eva. Ok then don't be an ornery Eva.

Imagine this.. Leah and I talking to her class at school. She says one of my favorite things to do is... She turns around and says, "pineapple underpants, pineapple underpants." While shaking her bum. I laughed too hard to be embarrassed. Now since it got such a good reaction Eva and Leah do it all the time and think they are hilarious.

The kids and I walked a long ways while getting tires put on the van. Leah finally stopped and said, "mom my legs are all out of breath, their exhausted."

Leah overheard me talking to Davy about going out for steak. "What mistake did Daddy make" she kept insisting I tell her what he did.

Ronan can now say a few words. My favorite is waving and saying Hiiiii. He also says mama and dada. Oh and he does a great lion roar.

Leah was trying to measure how tall Eva had gotten and drew all over the walls with crayon. When she came to apologize to me she said I am so glad your my mommy. It was so sweet how could I stay mad.

Eva has her first kiss tonight. The Roylances were over to dinner and they have a son Ethan. He and Eva went up to our bedroom. When they came down he pointed and said she kissed me. I said Leah did you kiss Ethan? Eva raised her hand all proud and said I did.

This house rocks. That is what Leah kept saying over and over again yesterday. She watches way to much TV.

Ever since I told Leah that people go to the hospital to have babies she doesn't want to get married. For some reason she is certain that if you get married that means you have to go to the hospital because you will have a baby. I cannot reason with her she will not change her mind on it. No matter how many times I tell her that not everyone that is married has kids.

It is not really something Ronan can say but he learned to clap this week. He loves to eat and claps on command the whole time I am feeding him. I just cannot get enough of it.

Leah was falling asleep on the top bunk when suddenly she was pounded on the head with a hurly stick. Eva had gone into my room took it from under the bed. Climbed the ladder to the top bunk. All to pound Leah on the head. When it was taken away she said that she needed her knife to fight the bad guys.

Leah went to the Packs Pumpkin Patch for a field trip. The owner read the kids a story and asked Leah to be his assistant. She was just suppose to hold a little pumpkin. I am sure he regret ed that. She thought she was part of the presentation and had a comment for everything. Including my favorite color is pink and purple. I think that pumpkin looks like a lemon. The other parents and I were dying of laughter.

Eva told us she was going on a trip. Where to we asked? Outer space she replied.

We were taking flowers to Grandma Flo the other day. Leah said that she was so hungry if we didn't take her to get food that she would eat a whole flower. Then she make an eating sound effect, gluppp.

When Eva gets hurt she makes me kiss exactly where the pain is. If I don't get the spot I have to try again and again to get her to stop crying. This is cute when it is her arm or face. Not so cute when it is on her dirty feet.

The number of times we have cleaned poop off the walls in Eva's room after her naps this week, 5

Leah asked heavenly father for a good imagination in her prayers the other night, I thought don't worry sweet heart your already got it.

Leah says to my mom in the morning, old people have a hard time sleeping sometimes

Davy here: Eva told me the other day that baby Ronan punched her in the neck. I better stop using that expression.

Leah told Davy when he was getting mad at her. Dad that is not logical, she used it correctly for the situation. What does logical mean Leah he said. It means something doesn't make sense she commented back.

Eva really likes that taste of medicine. When I was giving Ronan a dose she wanted some. I sick she said, fake cough, fake cough, see.
